ABOUT
THE COURSE
The course is suitable for those who:
•Are looking for inspiration and want to master a new technique.
• Strive to create a relevant decor for their interior.
• Want to enjoy the meditative creative process and a warm, female-centric community atmosphere .

On course:
The course consists of five lessons, during which you will systematically master the technique of hand weaving, step-by-step study of weaving from basic to complex types, create a large accent panel based on the author's model of the teacher. We will work with natural textured types of yarn and a pastel color scheme, which you will choose for your future work yourself in the first lesson.

Course objectives:
• Master the technique of modern hand weaving.
• Study basic and complex types of weaving.
• Create a stylish panel from natural materials.
• Get acquainted with the current trend in interior decor.

COURSE PROGRAM



LESSON 1. Introduction to Weaving and Warp Preparation
• Introduction to modern weaving as a trend in interior design.
• Discussion of palette and choice of color scheme.
• Threading the warp onto the weaving frame.
• Mastering the basic tag weave to get started.

LESSON 2. Basic elements and complex weaves
• Mastering fringe tacking: creating a textural accent.
• Introducing pile technique and double carpet knot.
• Exploring variations of sumac technique: adding intricate details.

LESSON 3. Variety of textures
• We continue to weave the panel. We introduce new elements: the Panama technique and the Egyptian knot.

LESSON 4. Refining the composition
• Working with textured elements for volumetric details.
• Mastering merino wool air loops.

LESSON 5. Completion of the panno and final designие
• Completion of work.
• Final finishing of the panno.
• Registration and discussion of the results.

Course summary:

At the end of the course, you will receive a unique interior panel created by yourself. You will master the technique of weaving, gain knowledge about different types of weaves and will be able to independently continue to create stylish decorative elements.


Alina Gombats
Alina Gombats, contemporary textile artist.
In 2020, she opened the Yves Boho contemporary weaving studio in Moscow, where she created original works and conducted training workshops. In 2024, she moved to Belgrade.

She came to art through art therapy. She chose textile medium as her main type of creativity, as the most sensory and meditative.
In her works, she combines natural materials (linen, cotton, raffia, sisal).
The main interest is to encourage the viewer to reflect and attract them to meditative art. To give a sense of calm and reduce anxiety.
