In this two-session workshop at CHE Design School, you'll turn raw veneer into a finished longboard of your own. Whether you're interested in cruising through the city or simply want to learn how a quality longboard is made, you'll take part in every stage of the build.
On the first day, you'll learn about different types of longboards, materials, and tools. You'll make your own template, learn how to safely use essential woodworking tools, and prepare and glue the veneer layers before pressing them in a vacuum press.
On the second day, we'll take the deck out of the press, cut it to its final shape, finish the edges, and drill the mounting holes for the trucks. By the end of the workshop, you'll take home a finished longboard deck, ready for trucks and wheels hat you built yourself.
No previous woodworking experience is required. The workshop consists of two 3-hour sessions and is held in small groups of one to three participants, allowing the instructor to work closely with everyone throughout the process. Workshops are available in both Serbian and English, depending on the group's needs.
Once your board is finished, it's time to ride it. You can book a riding lesson with Jovan Miljković from "Korak do flipa",a longboarding and longboard dancing school operating in Belgrade and Kragujevac. Find out more on Instagram or join their Telegram community.
