In the technique of hand-drawn stop-motion animation, anything can come to life – paper, watercolor splashes, collages, clay, toys, and any wild ideas. Frame by frame, everything gradually comes together into a cartoon that tells the stories we write together. Over the course of five sessions, we will go through the entire process of creating a short animated film – and even build our own animation stand for flat cut-out animation.
Intro session & woodworking — we build the setup for stop-motion shooting in our woodworking workshop and get acquainted with the technique of cut-out animation. Brainstorm & script — we generate ideas, choose a theme, create characters, write a short script, and make a storyboard. Technique & production — we choose the method: collage, object, clay, or mixed media animation. We create characters, backgrounds, and props. Animation — we shoot frame by frame, work with movement, lighting, and the rhythm of the scene. Editing & sound — we assemble the cartoon, record voices, sounds, and music. Premiere!
